Laura Sutinen receives “The Act of the Year” award at Jussi-gaala 2026

At the Jussi-gaala on 20 March 2026, Laura Sutinen was awarded the “The Act of the Year” prize by Filmiaura ry for her tireless and often invisible work in developing and internationalising the Finnish film industry.

The Jussi awards are Finland's most prestigious film prizes, awarded annually since 1944. The Vuoden uroteko recognises work that goes beyond individual productions, contributions that shape the industry itself.

Laura has spent over a decade building direct relationships with the world's major studios and production companies, hosting international talent including Emma Thompson, Jason Segel and the Skarsgård family, and working at the intersection of Finland's country image and the global entertainment industry. Much of that work happens behind the scenes, which makes the recognition all the more fitting.
